    Susan Black lives in a historic, seaside town in Nova Scotia, Canada. She graduated with degrees in Visual Communication and Fine Art from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Susan finds endless inspiration from the natural world. Her bold, exuberant botanical art explores colour and pattern with stylized foliage, floral portraits and still life paintings. Her work is often filled with detail–layering line, pattern and texture … with a “more is more, maximalist” approach to her art.

    Susan’s work always begins with a hands on approach–with paint (watercolour or acrylic gouache) or collage and sometimes finer details are added digitally, usually with Procreate.
